about bruges
Bruges is certainly Belgium's most touristy town. Due to its old historic buildings, well preserved medieval houses and treasures, Bruges is crammed with tourists and sight seekers especially in the summer. If you don't like crowds, we recommend going there out of season, when it is quieter and more pleasant. Bruges' historic attractions are concentrated in two medieval centres - the Markt and the Burg. Both of them are included in Unesco's World Heritage List. The city of Bruges has been appointed the European city of Culture twice - in 2000 and 2002.
