about Cologne
Cologne is the largest city in North Rhine-Westphalia province with a population of almost a million. The city's name comes from the popular cologne water, which has been the most important local industry since the 18th century. Cologne is a city with long history, dating back to the 1st century BC, when it was colonized by the Romans. For different periods, the city belonged to the Franks and Prussians.
