Iceland is situated in the Northwestern part of Europe and it is the closest country from the Old World to the US and Canada. It will take you less than five hours flying time from the East Coast. Iceland is worth visiting as it is where you can find 10 000 waterfalls, 5 glaciers and 15 active volcanoes. In addition to that it boasts a variety of birds and plenty of cavorting whales offshore. Most tourists head for Reykjavik and the capital city is really attractive with its numerous entertainment places. Akureyri, Keflavik, Hella, Hofn and Selfoss are among the top destinations in the country known world wide for its sagas and eddas.
