about Lillehammer
Lillehammer was established in 1827 as a trading post, but during the years, it grew into a lively town and became Norway's best winter sport area. The surrounding areas provide a heaven for nature enthusiasts and ski lovers. The host of the 1994 Winter Games, Lillehammer boasts unspoiled natural landscape, which makes it a perfect spot for the Olympics. Many new facilities were introduced for the Olympic Games, which are now open for the public. A new Concert Hall was built and an open-air museum displaying a microcosm of life in the Gudbrandsdalen Valley, was established. Apart from being a winter sport spot, Lillehammer is also a town with a vibrant culture and arts scene, and typical wooden buildings.
