about Cordoba
There is hardly another place in the world, where the cultures of Islam, Judaism and Christianity coexist in such a harmonious way. Granada combines unrivalled historical artefacts from all three religions and cultures. One of the most famous landmarks in Cordoba is the Great Mosque - La Mezquita. It is a stunning spot, constructed during the rule of Abd ar-Rahman. What makes it distinctive, however, is the cathedral built inside the mosque, by Ferdinand III, creating a unique synthesis of cultures and traditions. Worth seeing while in Cordoba is its old Jewish Quarter, which has preserved charming medieval narrow streets and beautiful limestone-painted houses.
