about Granada
Thanks to its spectacular historic and architectural delights, Granada has been declared a national monument. Its fame and beauty owe much to the stunning 14th century palace of Alhambra. The monument is considered an excellent example of the Moorish Art and probably its peak. Beautiful Arabic tile and plaster decoration, Islamic fountains and ceiling paintings decorate the Alcazaba (a part of the palace). Granada's long history has been closely tied to Arabic history. The city was under Arabic rule for over two centuries, before being conquered back by Ferdinand in 1492. Apart from Alhambra, Cordoba houses a number of other sights such as the Gothic Cathedral and the Plateresque Ecclesiastic Curia
