about Valencia
Valencia is a lovely treasure city set on the Mediterranean coast. An array of historic riches testifies to its two thousand years of history. The city was under Moorish rule for quite a long time. The Islamic influence can be best observed in the "Abd-al-Malik's Baths", which are by the way very well preserved. Gothic features also abound in the city's architectural surroundings. Among Seville's attractions is the 14th century bell-tower, which reveals stunning views from its top. Valencia is also a vibrant festival city. Best known among the festivals is the Fallas in spring, during which big papier-mache statues are set in flames in festive bonfires.
