about Geneva
The lakeside city of Geneva belongs to the Swiss confederation but its culture and cuisine are predominantly French. That is probably because it was one of the last cities to join the Swiss country (and of course because of its proximity to the French border). Geneva invokes the images of flowers and chocolates. The crystal-clear Lake Geneva is a popular attraction and a perfect place for a relaxing holiday. Furthermore, Geneva is the site of important European and Voluntary Organizations, such as the League of the Nation, the UN, the Red Cross and the World Health Organisation. With so many world famous institutes it is no wonder that actually it was Geneva who brought us the World Wide Web.
