about Bath
Situated in the west of England, Bath is a beautiful historic town, famous above all for its splendid Georgian architecture, antique shopping and museums. The former name of the town is Acqua Sulis, which was given to the town by the Romans, because of its wonderful natural baths. Completely wrecked during the 5th century, the town quickly revitalised and reached its heyday in the 1700s, when it was the hub of high life in Georgian England. Nowadays Bath lures the visitors with its graceful architecture, stunning historic manors and quaint antique shops. It is furthermore an excellent gateway to Cotswold, Devon and Cornwall.
