about Coventry
Home to upper class car companies such as Jaguar and Peugeot, the county of Coventry is known among all as the industrial centre of England. Coventry city combines rich industrial past and present. An interesting collection of vehicles is to be seen at the Museum of the British Road Transport. The city boasts a number of museums, galleries and beautiful medieval houses. Heavily bombed during the World War II, due to its industrial character, Coventry had some of its most famous landmarks destroyed. The medieval cathedral of St. Michel, which was completely ruined, was afterwards rebuilt, but the nave and pier were left as reminders of those bitter days.
